Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp restored after hours
The social media platforms WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram have been restored worldwide and in Pakistan after hours of outage.
Facebook-owned major social media platforms – WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram were down worldwide for a few hours today. The messaging application announced the restoration of its service on Twitter saying: “Apologies to everyone who hasn’t been able to use WhatsApp today.” Downdetector showed that the outage was reported at 8:23 pm (Pakistan Standard Time) which rose up to 17k complaints by 9 PM.
The website mentioned that the Instagram outage was reported first at 7:59 pm, while Facebook went down almost around the same time. WhatsApp had last gone down in March and was restored hours later but with no official announcement from the company about the reasons behind this latest incident. Photo-sharing app’s recent outages came just weeks apart — one earlier on October 4th where service restoration took place after several hours; another during early morning Australian of September 29 when users were still experiencing technical difficulties as they tried accessing their accounts which finally became live again by 1 pm.

“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working hard on getting things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible.”
Facebook apologizes to users
Facebook and WhatsApp were among the many social media sites that experienced outages today. Facebook was experiencing issues with their app, while at least one user reported trouble loading on WhatsApp’s Twitter account for iPhone users.”

‘Instagram and friends have a little hard time’
“Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, but don’t worry! We’re already working to get things up-and-running again as soon as possible,” said Instagram.
“We want you guys back on our platform ASAP so that everything can return back to normal.”
